FIRST SESSION, 2017

GEOG 111 Weather & Climate (3). An introduction to the nature and causes of weather variability and climate change and their impact on human activity. No laboratory.

GEOG 370 Introduction to Geographic Information (3). A survey of Geographic data sources including maps, photos, digital images, Census information, and others.  Emphasis is on appropriate uses, limitations, and skilled interpretation in physical and human geography applications.

SECOND SESSION, 2017

GEOG 120 World Regional Geography (3). A survey of the geography of human activity as it occurs throughout the world.  Emphasis is on current problems related to populations, urbanizations, and economic activity.

GEOG 130 Geographical Issues in the Developing World (3). An introduction to historical and contemporary ideas about practices and meanings of development. Students will explore “development” in a global landscape of poverty, power, and struggles over inequality.

GEOG 259 Geography of Latin America (3).  An introduction to Latin American geography through an examination of how the region came to be distinct and how social, political, and economic processes continue to define it.
