Archaeology
History leaves clues everywhere
History leaves clues everywhere, and Archaeology is the field that picks up the pieces to tell the stories buried beneath our feet. In this track, students will not only dig into the major, but will also explore the lesser-known aspects of the field, including public engagement, community collaboration, and critical research. Students will visit local historic sites to uncover stories of the past and will conduct food-focused explorations of material culture to examine why everyday objects matter and how they shape our identities. Along the way, you’ll meet UNC faculty and students who will offer insight into coursework, research opportunities, and career pathways in cultural heritage, public history, museum work, conservation, and more. You’ll leave with a clearer picture of how Archaeology helps us piece together humanity’s story, and how you can be part of the next big find!
