About the Intensive
Dive deeper into the world of design and making with the UNC BeAM Makerspace Network. Start the week by completing hands-on training with laser cutters, 3D printers, and other digital fabrication tools. Working with experienced peer mentors, participants will be immersed in a multi-day process to ideate, design, and build a creative project using the BeAM makerspaces. Field trips throughout the week will highlight three different departments at UNC Chapel Hill, and how they use design and making at the professional level. By the end of the week, participants will showcase their finished projects and take them home. Whether you’re new to making or ready to expand your skills, this experience offers a valuable introduction to design, fabrication, and innovation at UNC Chapel Hill.
