On-Campus Residence Halls: Living in a residence hall has the advantage of being close to classrooms, laboratories, libraries, computer facilities, and dining halls, as well as recreational and athletic activities. Portions of Olde Campus Upper and Lower Quads will be used this year for summer school.
The Department of Housing and Residential Education provides on-campus housing for those students who have officially enrolled in summer classes or special programs. The rates per Summer 2013 session are: Session I: Double room with air: $825.00; Session II: Double room with air: $825.00; Maymester: Double room with air $400.00. Students can download a housing application from the Department of Housing and Residential Education (http://housing.unc.edu) beginning in early March. Assignments are made in the order applications are received. Room rent charges are posted to your student account. A $50.00 cancellation charge incurs if the application is canceled prior to the halls opening. Students are notified of room and roommate assignments in early May. Email housing@unc.edu if you have questions.
New Policy: On April 15 and on May 1, all housing applications will be verified against registration data to ensure housing applicants are enrolled in summer classes. Applications will be cancelled if student is not enrolled on these dates and the student account will be charged $50.00. Students are urged to register for summer classes prior to completing a housing application.
Off-Campus Housing: Rooms, apartments, and houses are available. Check local newspapers for listings. If you are considering off-campus housing, visit the property and make arrangements in person.
