Chapel Hill and Carrboro: The University is located in Chapel Hill, and Carrboro is a smaller town located one mile away.  The local visitors bureau provides ideas for enhancing your life while at UNC.

On campus, visit the Morehead Planetarium and Ackland Art Museum. Enjoy the riches of Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and the Research Triangle, and the state of North Carolina in the summertime. Whether it's the internationally recognized American Dance Festival in Durham, a special exhibit at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh, shops and music venues on Franklin Street, or water skiing on Jordan Lake, summer in the Triangle is bursting with opportunities for you to explore. Campus Recreation Program facilities are also available during the summer sessions.
