Welcome to Summer School

UNC-Chapel Hill students and summer visiting students can find classes to meet their academic needs through Summer School at Carolina. Many popular and sought-after courses are offered in Maymester that runs three weeks and in two five-week summer sessions. UNC-Chapel Hill students can enroll in courses to satisfy General Education requirements or to complete majors or minors. About 90 percent of the summer faculty are the same professors and graduate students who teach during the academic year.
Visiting students can take courses for credit to transfer to their home institutions, to meet professional certification requirements, or to satisfy personal enrichment.
