Cashier Accounts & Payments

by admin-oasis last modified 2009-01-12 15:37

Tuition and fees depend on student classification and the number of credit hours of enrollment. To determine the precise cost, consult the tuition and fees tables, including applicable fees and waivers (notes 1-6) and designated program fees.

Information on tuition and fees, is online (cashiers.unc.edu).

Accounts Due. If you register by April 4 for First Session, or May 7 for Second Session, you will receive a bill from the University Cashier. Return your payment for tuition and fees or the Tuition, Fees, and Housing Deferment form for each session by the due date on the bill. Otherwise your registration will be CANCELLED and you will need to prepay and register again.
North Carolina law states that if you have an unpaid account for the spring semester or previous semesters you cannot enroll for any summer session until the account has been paid in full. The University will not under any circumstances make adjustments to or waive the payment of tuition and fees in violation of this or other legal statutes.

Payment deadlines. To hold your early registration, First Summer Session tuition and fees are due Friday, April 24, 2009.   Second Summer Session tuition and fees are due Friday, May 29, 2009.

Pre-payment is required beginning April 4 for 1st Session and May 7 for 2nd Session. You should estimate your own tuition and fees. To be cleared for registration, submit IN ADVANCE your payment and/or documentation from the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid showing eligibility for financial aid.

Deferring Payment. Payment of tuition and fees is a student responsibility. If you are expecting financial aid in an amount sufficient to cover tuition and fees, complete the Tuition, Fees, and Housing Deferment Form on the back of the bill or request the form from the Cashier. If financial aid is not sufficient to cover the entire bill, complete the deferment form and submit it with payment for the unfunded amount to the Cashier. Failure to make full payment may result in cancellation of registration.

Warning for "No-Shows." If you registered at any time, but changed your mind about attending, it is your responsibility to inform the Registrar that you wish to cancel your registration. Otherwise, you are liable for any charges due and remain on grade rolls.

PAYMENTS

Information on payment options are available from the Cashier's office:

Notes:

  1. If you have received a baccalaureate degree, you must use the graduate student classification regardless of the level of courses you take.
  2. If you wait to register on or after the first day of classes, you are charged a $20 late registration fee.
  3. The fee for returned checks is $25.
