ASIA 333 The Mahabharata: Remembered, Reimagined, Performed (3). This course offers an introduction to the Sanskrit Mahabharata as well as modern retellings/recasting of the epic in contemporary literature, film, and folk productions of India.
DRAM 287 African American Theatre (3). This course investigates the history and legacy of African American drama through the study of its literary texts, performance styles, and cultural history.
EDUC 464 Teaching Profession (3). This course serves as an introduction to teaching and to public schooling. It covers foundations and philosophies, current issues and trends. Practicing and prospective teachers as well as students who are interested in education policy will engage in online inquiry and innovative strategies in this online class.
EDUC 690 Foundations of Special Education (3). This course will provide an advanced introduction to key concepts, issues, and service delivery approaches pertaining to the educational needs of students with high incidence disabilities.
ENGL 140 Introduction to Gay/Lesbian Literature (WMST 140) (3). Introduces students to concepts in queer theory and recent sexuality studies. Topics include queer lit, AIDS, race and sexuality, representations of gays and lesbians in the media, political activism/literature.
EXSS 740 Administration of Sport (3). Policies and problems of organization and administration of athletic programs in colleges.
FREN 255 Conversation I (3). Prerequisite, FREN 204, 212, or 402. Introductory conversation for building oral proficiency while increasing awareness of French culture. Emphasis on vocabulary and grammatical accuracy; writing activities support speaking.
FREN 310 Conversation and Composition II (3). Prerequisite, FREN 250, 255, or 260. Intermediate conversation to expand speaking skills through vocabulary building, discussion of selected texts, and activities that produce conversation. Ongoing development of writing skills.
JOMC 153 News Writing (3). Study of elements of news stories, writing of leads, organization and writing of various types of news stories. Extended class, five days per week.
JOMC 441 Diversity and Communication (3). An examination of racial stereotypes and minority portrayals in United States culture and communication. Emphasis is on the portrayal of Native Americans, African Americans, Hispanics and Asian Americans in mass media.
POLI 271 Modern Political Thought (3). Survey course designed to introduce students to major political thinkers and schools of thought dating roughly from the sixteenth century to the present.
PSYC 245 Abnormal Psychology (3). Prerequisite, PSYC 101. Major forms of behavior disorders in children and adults, with an emphasis on description, causation, and treatment.
RELI 199: Topics in the Study of Religion: What is Scripture (3). This course traces past and continued processes that define what the Hebrew/Old Testament has been and is today, with a focus on the history of biblical interpretation.

ANTH 238 Human Ecology of Africa (3). Course examines human adaptations to environments across Africa. Focuses on livelihood systems such as farming, herding, and hunting/gathering.

EDUC 706 Collaboration and Leadership in School Counseling (3). May 10-June 14. Prerequisite: eighteen hours in counseling courses. Emphasizes the collaboration and leadership skills needed to effectively organize and implement a comprehensive school counseling program. Predominantly online class (will meet face to face first class)

INLS 890-01W Selected Topics: Electronic Health Records: Emerging Standards, Applications, and Services (3). In the class we will consider some of the recent efforts on EHR data standards, with a strong focus on associated data management requirements, applications, and services. Along with a close examination of the standards criteria being developed by the Certification Commission of Health Information Technology (CCHIT), the course will also cover related standards such as Health Level 7 (HL7) and Clinical Data Interchange and Standards Consortium (CDISC). The course is aimed at data management specialists, data management administrators, and students interested in health data management.
JOMC 141 Professional Problems and Ethics (3). Intensive study of professional and ethical issues and problems facing the mass media and their employees in relation to modern society.
SOWO 401 When the World Falls Apart: Managing the Effects of Disasters on Families & Children (3). Is designed to examine the effects that disasters have on children, their families, and communities. This course gives students an understanding of how to deal with the reactions of people exposed to disasters and how to decrease the chances of long-term psychological damage.
SPAN 260 Introduction to Spanish and Spanish American Literature (3). Prerequisite, SPAN 204, 212, or 402. Develops skills for further literary studies while increasing Spanish language proficiency and providing different world views through literature. Native speakers need permission of the instructor.
